This is a byzantine church, the oldest in the region, serving as a sample of exquisite art. It belongs to the type of double-column cruciform with octagonal dome, dating back to the 12th century AD. The masonry consists of rocks and bricks at a cloisonne imperfect system structure. The interesting feature is the use of architectural monuments of the Asclepius Sanctuary and other ancient buildings in the area. Fragments of wall paintings, dating back to the 12th century, have survived inside the church. Graffiti of ships are preserved on the stucco of the wall paintings of the narthex.
