The Burning of the Ottoman fleet, a historical event of the Greek War of Independence of 1821, takes place every September at the historic and brave island of Spetses. A series of events with the heroic September 1822 as their main theme lead to the spectacular burning of the Turkish flagship, celebrated with magnificence on the last day of the festival. In the picturesque port of the island, the view inside the arms of Panaghia Armata and under the watchful eye of Captain Bouboulina is enjoyable.
