The recently renovated Monastery of Avgo is located near the village of Pelei (Valley of Iria) and consists of three floors. In the second floor, there is the main church building of the monastery, consisting of a church with a dual dedication to Saint Demetrius Myrovletes (the Myrrh-streamer) and Saint Theodores (Agioi Theodoroi). Built during the Venetian period, with frescoes from the 17th century, it is perched on the rock and surrounded by natural caves – the monks’ hermitages
